The owners of High Tides at Snack Jacks opened this instant hot spot. Gail and Ted bought the old Wings restaurant and expanded it with there remodeling project. The inside carries a collage meets vacationer theme. The have a large variety of tap and bottle beer, and the menu has quite a bit more to offer than Snack Jacks. I went there on 11/04/2011 with my friend Craig. I ordered the Wisconsin Beer Cheese Soup to start, For the obvious reason. (Did you read about me?) The menu reads "Yummy Cheddar Cheese with a splash of beer served in a bread bowl." I was a little leery trying it .... Why would you mix cheddar cheese and beer with bread. Who needs the bread? Well other than the bread bowl not being scooped out more for size, the soup was excellent. The cheese was a strong cheddar and you could taste just a hint of beer. I recommend it highly. I followed this up with a dozen Wings. I tried the two hottest sauces before ordering. They are Excitable and Dy-no-mite. It is pretty much the same sauces that are served at Snack Jacks. I had the cook mix the two and it was very good. For all of you Buffalo wing eaters who enjoy the burn, It doesn't happen. Their Dy-no-mite is the hottest and it doesn't leave your mouth smoking. But that is a good thing for all of you who like to try all the sauces without Rolaids. I drank a Guinness Beer with my soup and Ice Tea with my wings.
My friend Craig ordered the Filet Mignon Tips Sandwich. Grilled, served with provolone cheese, sauteed mushrooms and onions. He said that it melted in his mouth. He wouldn't let me try it, but he didn't have a problem stealing my wings. He drank a Diet Coke with his meal.
So to sum it up. They have a hit here. Don't be afraid to go there with the kids. They offer a good selection for them also. Enjoy, and let me know what you think about all my picks. Send me your comments to Tinys_Auto@yahoo.com.
